Well, somewhat similiar to Wednesday, I ended up catching a couple trains – there was one Providence & Worcester, and one New England Central. The only difference was it was a different P&W train I caught, in a different location.
I decided to head for a little change of scenery this morning for my walk & P&W NR-2 photo session. So I made my way to Stoddard Hill park in Ledyard, only a few miles (about 3) north of my usual spot. It was a kind of gloomy morning, with a pretty thick overcast, and […]
Busy day in the photography department. Well, not that busy, but I did manage to catch two trains today – one on my usual walk, and the other after work in Willimantic. I also came across a coal barge heading north in the Thames River, bound for a powerplant in Montville. And I thought it […]
I had the pleasure of riding with the crew of Connecticut Southern Railroad train CSO-4 on Saturday June 23, 2007. In addition to the friendly conversation, often times peppered with gut-wrenching laughter, I took a few photos. OK, it was more than a few – well over 700 in fact… 😀 I did pare it […]

Well, I had today off from work, so with the sunny skies this morning, I figured I’d take advantage of it and redo my high angle shot of Providence & Worcester train NR-2 snaking along the Thames River with the Mohegan Sun casino in the background (here’s the original). Plus it worked out that we […]
Well, I couldn’t take a walk yesterday because I was kinda busy at work, and the dreary day really didn’t get me motivated to get outside and walk (even though I really should). But today, with bright blue skies, I couldn’t pass it up. I figured I’d stay close today, since it would be another […]
Well, today’s walk brought me back up to near the Preston line for another go at a shot with the Thames River and Mohegan Sun all sharing the same frame as Providence & Worcester train NR-2. What a walk that would turn out to be…
Driving home last night past Lake Williams on Route 207 in Lebanon, CT, the sunset caught my eye. So of course, I had to stop & shoot it. What you see to the left is what I saw. -Tom
