An evening in Plainville

I had been trying to get out the past few nights to head out to Plainville, CT and shoot one of the PanAm painted GP40s that works down this way.  Well, finally things came together, and I headed out last night with Bob LaMay and Nick Palazini for the evening.  A nice clear night with no wind – perfect for a little shooting with the Lumedyne.

We spent a good hour in Plainville shooting the MEC 350, which was recently painted into the new PanAm blue scheme, shooting many angles around the lone EMD sitting quietly under the stars – and as I usually do, I included some of those stars in the photos.  So here’s a few shots from the evening’s activities.

Excellent as always. Looks like the 350 cooperated by being in a decent location.

This series of the PanAm 350 at night is fantastic. You and your friends are taking rail photography to new heights.

  • Thanks guys! Bill – you’re right, it was in a perfect spot – couldn’t have asked for a better positioning of the unit.

Donald – thanks for the kind words! I’m always looking for ways to push the envelope!

Oh, yeah, and there’s a few more shots that I didn’t publish here – I’m saving them for a slideshow I’m putting on in late May (the show is going to be on railroads at night). Stay tuned for details on that one!
