Been a bit busy lately – I did manage to get out on Monday morning for a bit and catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2, but I haven’t gotten around to processing the images yet (pretty run-of-the-mill stuff, so nothing earth shattering). In the meantime, here’s a trio of slide scans from a few years [...] Bob LaMay and I went up to Boston for our annual ritual on Saturday – attending the Mystic Valley Railway Society’s calendar judging luncheon. This event was for the MVRS’ 2011 calendar. And also as we usually do, we shoot along the way. This time we ended up catching some CSX, MBTA and a “new” [...] And the stuff from this morning. Another brief outing, so I’ll once again keep the typing to a minimum. I’m sure nobody will have a problem with that… Catching up part II – yesterday. More Providence & Worcester NR-2 in this one. No big surprises here… OK, it’s Friday night, so I guess I can catch up. I managed to get out a few times this past week to shoot a bit. The weather was decent down here in southeastern Connecticut, so I took advantage of that. This one is from this past Wednesday where I caught Providence & Worcester train [...] I managed to make a little time this morning to get out and try to photograph a little bit along the Thames River. But it was later than usual, so I wasn’t sure what, if anything I’d catch. I was encouraged by the fact that on my way into work I heard a Providence & [...] Now that we’re safely nestled into the new year I normally pick out some of my favorite shots from the previous year (2008 & 2007 for example) as a kind of retrospective look at what I shot over the past 365.25 days. This year I decided to narrow it down a bit to one subject I’ve [...] We got back home from Florida early last week, but because of things around the house, I didn’t get out to shoot at all. This morning, though, I finally got a chance to head out, and bagged Providence & Worcester train NR-2 at a couple spots. I also got some dredging along the Thames River [...] We’re back home in Connecticut now, but I managed to squeeze in one more FEC train on the way home. Actually, I have to credit my wife for spotting the train and suggesting we get a couple shots of it. How could I argue with her logic? While down here in the Sunshine State, I’ve been talking with a few of the local FEC fans about the goings-on along the railroad. One of them, who lives up by Ft. Pierce, invited me up to check out the area, as well as an FEC 0-8-0 undergoing restoration. As it worked out, I was [...] |
