Pumpkins along the Thames 1

Going back a little bit for this post, filling in some of the gaps I didn’t manage to get out on the site.  This was a quick trip I took one morning to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 heading south through Groton, CT with some special power in the consist.  Yep, as you can tell by the title, two of the former BNSF B40-8W widecab units made their way south along the Thames River.  They were wearing their unique PW patch job paint.  The third unit is already in PW paint – I still have yet to have that one cross my lens…

Not much else to say on this one, really.  Only was able to take a quick trip out and get the train at the USS Nautilus/Goss Cove and again in Fairview yard.  My schedule commanded that I be back at the office after that, so I wasn’t able to catch them out on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.  Oh, well…can’t win ’em all.  Anyways, here’s the shots from that morning, which by the way was April 4th.

    Tom:

Great shots. I was not aware of the purchase of the BNSF B40’s. Maybe I should have held on to my 750 shares of PWX which I recently sold for about 80% profit. Thanks for
the info. If you are going to respond, please do so to joefmcd@hotmail.com.

    As always, thanks.
