While looking at things here on the website, I realized that it’s been 6 months to the day since my last blog post. My how time flies… Lots has been going on around here – from the usual things like family and work commitments, to the more unusual, most notably the passing of my father in late […]
Busy times lately – both at work and at home. But I figured it was time for a quick blog post to stir things up a bit and let you all know where things are. First off, you’ll see my work – both photos and writing – in a couple magazines’ March 2012 issues, one […]
I didn’t get a chance to head out today – kinda swamped at work. So instead of not posting anything, I took a break from the Olympics and scanned a couple slides in. At least we’ll keep things somewhat fresh here…granted the pictures are at least 6 years old…
Been a bit busy lately – I did manage to get out on Monday morning for a bit and catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2, but I haven’t gotten around to processing the images yet (pretty run-of-the-mill stuff, so nothing earth shattering). In the meantime, here’s a trio of slide scans from a few years […]
We’re back home in Connecticut now, but I managed to squeeze in one more FEC train on the way home. Actually, I have to credit my wife for spotting the train and suggesting we get a couple shots of it. How could I argue with her logic?

Later on New Year’s Day I figured I could head out and catch the northbound FEC Extra job (train #240) out of Miami as they rolled through the area. So after putting the kids to bed, I checked out ATCS Monitor to check on 240’s progress north. After a little while, I saw them coming […]
New Year’s Day this year was spent cruising the Everglades in south Florida with the family. Well, the daylight hours were spent down there. We’ll get to the evening activities later.
We have a ritual when we’re down here at my parent’s place in Florida – we make a morning trip to Einstein Bagels in Boca Raton, FL. This fine New Year’s Eve morning, we left the kids with my parents and went out in search of trains after the bagel stop. Well, I did the […]
Been down here in Florida for a few days now, but haven’t had a chance to head trackside. Tonight was the first time I was able to get out – and with the help of ATCS Monitor, I was able to catch a FEC freight in Boca Raton, FL. Only problem was my timing.
