First off, happy Thanksgiving to everyone here in the US! With a few minutes before we start our festivities for the day, I figured I’d put up a post from over the summer. Yep, another post from the past as I slowly catch up on my photo posts here. Back in August of this year, [...] Back on the 4th of July I headed up to the Double Nickel Ranch in Granby, CT to shoot one of my favorite non-railroad subject to photograph – a sport known as Cowboy Mounted Shooting. The Connecticut Renegades were hosting a four stage match on the 4th, and I was able to take advantage of [...] Here’s Part II of the Connecticut Renegades‘ 4th of July match in Granby, CT. Here we go back to August 8th when we went to the Lebanon Lions’ 51st annual Lebanon Country Fair here in town. This year we were only able to get down there for Sunday (we normally go all three days since we live only a couple miles [...] On Sunday we took the kids on a surprise ride down to Old Lyme. McCulloch Farm, home of Whipporwill Morgan horses (check out their website here), was having an open barn event called “Foals and Flowers.” So we packed a picnic lunch, and made our way to Old Lyme to enjoy the beautiful day in [...] This past weekend we went to the Four Town Fair in Somers, CT for some of the usual fair stuff – rides, food, animals and of course beer. But the Four Town Fair has something else to offer – a Cowboy Mounted Shooting demonstration put on by the Connecticut Renegades, a CMS team from [...] This past weekend was the 50th Lebanon Country Fair. As we do every year, we head down the road (literally) and do the usual fair things – eat some not-so-healthy food, walk around, let the kids play games and ride the rides, and take in the events.
