Busy times lately – both at work and at home. But I figured it was time for a quick blog post to stir things up a bit and let you all know where things are. First off, you’ll see my work – both photos and writing – in a couple magazines’ March 2012 issues, one [...] With September 9th (otherwise known as my birthday) being a Friday this year, I took the day off with the intent of going out and shooting for most of the day. Jill was at work, and the kids were in school, so I could have the bulk of the day to spend with my cameras. The [...] Last Friday was a pretty good day, photographically speaking. I ended up taking the day off from work for a couple reasons – first, later in the evening I was putting on a presentation about the railroads along the Thames River for the Northeast Prototype Modeler’s Meet out in Collinsville, CT (BTW, if you’re a [...] I was out sick again today, and there wasn’t much on TV, so no movie reviews tonight. But since I’m feeling better tonight, I decided to scan through some of my “reject” folders of slides. I, unlike some other photographers, rarely throw away slides – I keep everything (unless it’s truly out of focus). And [...] I didn’t get a chance to head out today – kinda swamped at work. So instead of not posting anything, I took a break from the Olympics and scanned a couple slides in. At least we’ll keep things somewhat fresh here…granted the pictures are at least 6 years old… [...] Now that we’re safely nestled into the new year I normally pick out some of my favorite shots from the previous year (2008 & 2007 for example) as a kind of retrospective look at what I shot over the past 365.25 days. This year I decided to narrow it down a bit to one subject I’ve [...] I had made plans with Nick Palazini to try and do a little shooting along PanAm Railway’s District 3 and 4 on Saturday night. Hopefully we would catch something along the way. Our plans started out as meeting up at East Deerfield and playing it by ear from there. Since I was out and about anyways, I decided to meet up with fellow photographers Nick Palazini and Dave Jodoin somewhere up on PanAm’s District 4.
