My experience is in photojournalism, and not in the studio - I specialize in candid photos instead of posed types of photos. By photographing events this way, I try to capture the natural emotion of the moment, and not attempt to force an emotion out of the subject. I've photographed numerous events of many types, both public and private, and have had photos published in numerous magazines, newsletters and newspapers across the country and the world - click here for a list of published work to date. For the public events - examples include country fairs, town gatherings and concerts - I simply post photos on the website here for your enjoyment. I've placed some of these photos along the side and bottom of this page to give you a flavor of my photography. All are linked to larger sized versions within the main gallery. Feel free to click on them to view the photos and caption informtion. For private events - examples include house parties, family gatherings and the like - things work a bit differently.
First, you'll recieve a note in the invitation to the event that I'll be there photographing the attendees. At the event, I'll have cards with the URL and password for a private password protected gallery, where the photos will be available for viewing and purchase. This is done to maintain your privacy and prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing photos of you and your family or friends at the event. Usually a day after the event, the photos will be available for viewing/purchase from the secure website. If you have any questions or concerns, you can always contact me directly via email.
Typically I set up the event gallery with 4x6, 8x10 and 8x12 sized prints, available in either glossy or matte finishes. Other sizes can be made available, usually all the way to 20" x 30" if you want! Contact me for pricing beyond the sizes that are on the site. One bit of warning for the 8x10 size - some cropping of the photo will be necessary to print it at this size, so some of the image, usually at the top & bottom of the frame for a vertical, or the left and right sides for a horizontal, will be lost. The 4x6 and 8x12 sizes will not have anything cropped off of the frame from what you see on your screen. Just something to keep in mind.
